Introduction:
First, let me introduce myself: Durendil, 19-years-old French Hunter, playing wow since Vanilla, got to level 70 right before WTLK and started raiding at level 80. I don't remember how I discovered soloing but I was immediately interested: when you spent two years reaching max level, rerolling isn't attractive at all. And soloing gave me the challenge I wanted. I started with BC Heroics, and in March 2010, I downed Magamadar. Two months later, I downed the first boss whose memory would remain - Skeram - because I had to make up the strategy from scratch. At level 85, I started trying to grab hunter soloing worldfirsts - therefore always trying to figure out how to use my abilities to solo each boss, and I consider the best part of soloing isn't in following a guide but making one through trial and error.
And here I am now - still wondering what to solo next. But through all these years, I also had help from great players, and duo'd or trio'd a lot of bosses. And it was just as fun. Because there was challenge, and we had to adapt our strategies depending on the players and boss.
And now, with my soloing on hold since Ragnaros 25H, and half my guild having stopped WoW (so no more raids) because they were bored, I am bored of WoW and have been playing other games. But I remember the fun I had doing bosses the unconventional way, and also remember Frostheim.
For those who don't know him, he was the greatest hunter ever, Lord of WHU (warcraft hunters union), leading hundreds of level 1 hunters against whale shark, organizing event and hosting the greatest hunter blog of all. And he was a dwarf, so he had a beard to store his extra awesomeness. During Cataclysm, he organized an all-hunter team. They downed Omnotron, Occu'thar, Atramedes, Maloriak, Halfus, Valion and Theralion, and Morchok.
He proved that an all-hunter team could own. And guess the good news? Hunters are better at soloing in MoP. We have more self-healing, and pet tanking has never been easier, since pet death is now a mere 1.5 seconds delay, and quintuple last stand is great in emergency situations. I sincerely believe that, instead of counting the bosses we can down, we will end up counting the bosses we can't.
How the raids will work:
In another topic, I'll explain how this raid will be different from normal ones for us hunters.
Here, I'll explain what you need to consider before joining.
Server: European servers only.
Faction: Alliance.
Language: English, with some flexibility in understanding foreign accents (just listen to some of my guides and if see if your ears survive). It is not necessary to speak it, just to understand. Also, I'll name bosses and abilities in English so if, for example, you're playing in German, make sure you know what words relate to what spells.
Raiding Hours: There are 4 possible time slots, and I will organize at most 2 raids/week. Which ones I choose will depend, of course, on the other hunter's availabilities. Those are, in Paris Time (make sure you know the time difference between you home and mine):
Friday 20H45-midnight
Saturday afternoon (between 14H30 to 19H30, but not more than 3H30 of raiding)
Saturday 20H45-midnight (note: there will not be 2 raid on the same day)
Sunday afternoon (same time slot as saturday)
Make sure to give your availabilities in your application (explained in another topic)
