The primary source of information is on the
pandaboard.org web site.
The purpose of the board is to explore features of the OMAP processor
so specific application questions (like yours) can be tested and evaluated by a
potential user (like you).
A number of mobile phone designs began with the pandaboard and
while the vendor finalized the phone hardware design the vendor was
able to move forward with software development gaining a many month
software head start that would have been impossible on an emulator in
the same time frame.
As you do your research I would have you build a table and
compare and contrast the pandaboard with newer and less
costly boards like the raspberry-pi, the beagle bone black, the
MCIMX6Q-SL Sabre lite board.....
These evaluation platforms are seldom sufficient for a
final product but you get close enough to discover if you
want to commit your design....
