Ever since the release of the new OMAP PVR drivers for Precise I've been looking for good apps or games that might take advantage of our hardware OGLES acceleration and/or make good use of the NEON extensions.

There aren't many Linux games anyway (in comparison to Windows) but even fewer are open source AND have support for GLES. I still haven't got any ES 2 games to run but today I was very happy to get both d1x (Descent) and d2x (Descent II) running beautifully with OGLES 1 GFX accel, sound (via my external USB audio device) and USB joystick/pad support! It has instantly become the most impressive game I can run on my Pandaboard and its the first time I've ever compiled anything for GLES. I give a few more details about it on the dxx-rebirth forums:

What is of most importance to this list and esp. Mr Clark is that both d1x and d2x just gave me a black screen if I run them without any switches. Instead, you have to run them with the -window switch to start them windowed, then you can use the GFX options menu to enable fullscreen afterwards and that works.

As I say in that above thread, I'd like to get Quake 3 (or even one of the newer Wolfenstein games) running on the Panda complete with GLES 2 accel. If you check out the previously linked thread I have started on the dxx-rebirth forums I have detailed my progress so far with try to compile Githubs Q3 for RPi .

Has anyone on this list already got Quake 3 running with GLES 2 support under Precise? How did you do it?

I'm getting closer and I'd love to have some help! I'm keeping track of my Quake GLES on Panda progress here:
