Hello,
I am trying to use bambu to target the Xilinx's arty board (xc7a35T-L1csg324l) (link:https://www.xilinx.com/products/boards-and-kits/arty.html#hardware
I went over the add_device_simple example and was not able to figure out how to do it.
This is what I understand. Please correct me if I am wrong.
There is a device support for xc7a100T-csg324, which is a bigger device but from the same family (artix-7) as the device I want to target.
I copied the .xml file for this device and set the  model, speed grade and other parameters described in 'add_device_simple' project. However, when I run bambu with --device-name option, it fails to recognize the device.
Also, I wanted to know where I can change the resource budgets in the .xml file to match the resource budgets of the new device.
Please advice on how to proceed.

Thanks,
Nikhil

Dear Nikhil,

Could you please share the xml you create and the command line you use?
I would like to reproduce the issue on my premises.
Concerning the resource budget of the new devices, you don't need to do anything with the target device xml file. The target device xml file is just used for performance and it is not controlling the amount of resource used. For such purpose, you need to pass a constraint xml file constraining the amount of resources used. See for example the file /arf_res_sharing/constraints_STD.xml.

Cheers,
Fabrizio
