Dear Martin,

there is a section in submission for the abstract to be copied to as a plain text;
Do you have the abstract from the main paper in mind? or from extended abstract?
Is the extended abstract submitted as Attachment?

Regards
Anna

Hi Anna,

as per the instructions, participants should submit a notebook as well
as an "extended" abstract of 400 words, which gives a short overview
of the contribution along the following lines:

Title
Authors
Affiliations
Email addresses of all authors
Body of text. This should contain information on:
- tasks performed
- main objectives of experiments
- approach(es) used
- resources employed
- results obtained

The abstract is used for the print proceedings and shall be written in
the following template:
http://www.uni-weimar.de/medien/webis/research/events/pan-13/pan13-web/pan13-abstract-template.doc

It may be that EasyChair asks you to put an abstract into a form,
though, which is probably the abstract of the notebook (but of no real
importance here). The extended abstract shall be written in the word
template.

Dear Martin,
The instruction regarding the writing of the extended abstract was clear.
However, unless "alongside" means in the same document as the notebook, there is no other option than "attachment" on easychair to submit the extended abstract.

Anna

Hi Anna,

No, they should be separate documents.

Yes, I think that is a the one to use as it keep the two documents together.
I guess, EasyChair does not allow for customizing the names of the files, which
is why the CLEF organizers went with these options.
