Dear everyone,

the run submission deadline has passed, and I'd like to thank you for
all the submission!

You've sent us a good deal of work, but fear not, there's also some
left on your todo list, namely writing down what you have
accomplished.

This year, we have changed the proceedings a little but compared to
previous years:
Before you write your notebook paper, we ask your to write an extended
abstract describing your approach to a given task. This abstract will
be peer-reviewed for quality. Based upon the review, and based upon
your performance in the competition, it will be decided how long your
notebook paper may be and what presentation we expect of you at the
conference in September.

The extended abstract may not exceed 2 pages LNCS style. Describe your
approach as detailed and well-written as possible, and omit things
like introductions and conclusions. They are superfluous in this
format. You may prepare an one abstract for each sub-task you took
part in.

More detailed information as well as a template for the extended
abstract can be found at http://pan.webis.de.

Please submit your extended abstract by June 22, 2012.

Thanks!

Martin

A couple of quick questions so we can plan for our travel expenses:
1. Is every team that made a submission guaranteed to have some sort of presentation at the conference?
2. I am assuming we have to register for CLEF2012. Is that correct? Is any additional registration fee for PAN2012 required?
3. Do you know which day(s) are likely to be used for the PAN2012 activities?
4. Do you know anything about hotel accommodations? I couldn’t find anything about hotels on the CLEF site.

Thanks
April

Dear Martin,

I've just uploaded the abstract to: http://www.easychair.org
Following the guidelines:
"Please submit your notebook by Jun 22, 2012 to our conference
managment system."

But it asked only for plain text input, there was no request to upload
the
the pan12-notebook-template.doc

Please confirm that my submission is ok and meets your requirements.
Thank you in advance!

Hi Yurii,

please login again to Easychair. Once you display your submission it
should give you the option
"Submit a new version", allowing you to upload your pdf.

Other participants have submitted their contributions already, so I
think you wont have any problem.

Best regards,
Alberto
