Subject: Caltrain Electrification Notice: San Antonio Road Lane Closure

Hello,

Caltrain will begin performing bridge barrier installation work in Mountain View that will require a temporary closure of the southbound Central Expressway on-ramp from eastbound San Antonio Road and the westbound San Antonio Road exit-ramp from southbound Central Expressway. The temporary closures are required due to construction equipment and crews conducting bridge barrier installation work on the San Antonio Road bridge.

Work will take place from September 7 to September 20 with work hours between 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.

Directional signs will direct eastbound vehicle and bicycle traffic on San Antonio Road to use Mayfield Avenue for the detour route on the night of the southbound Central Expressway on-ramp closure. Directional signs will direct southbound vehicle and bicycle traffic on Central Expressway to Mayfield Avenue then northbound on Central Expressway to the westbound San Antonio Road exit-ramp for the detour route on the night of the southbound off-ramp closure. The pedestrian sidewalks on the east side of Central Expressway will be closed on the night of the southbound off-ramp closure. Pedestrians will be directed to Mayfield Avenue during construction. During construction, crews will provide crossing access to emergency first responders.

CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES

During the closure, crews will install screen mesh and protection screen panels along the bridge overcrossing at San Antonio Road to ensure the safety of pedestrians and electrical infrastructure for Caltrain Electrification. Work will consist of the cutting of concrete, restoration, and the installation of bridge barrier components. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and the field team will work as quietly as possible. Please visit our website at www.calmod.org/get-involved to sign-up for weekly construction updates. If you have questions or comments about the upcoming work, please call our dedicated Project Hotline at 650.399.9659 or email cal...@caltrain.com. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
