Dear All:

As a follow-up to our last discussion, I have shared a spreadsheet
titled "Pan-IIT_Cleantech" and can be access at
http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=rDYvUF0acBdY2lKVUaULLhg
My goal was to lay the framework for how we could start building this
website. I would like to get it critiqued by everyone on this list to
ensure that we are all on the same page on how this site will evolve.

The spreadsheet covers the following topics:

1> Goals of this site.

2> Action plan

3> Technology Focus Areas.

4> Links to various sites (see Goals for why this is the case).

While we can update the site with new feedback, we need to make sure
that the high level goals and plan to achieve these goals is well
understood and finalized. Let's give it a couple of weeks (06/05) to
get everyone's feedback. Feel free to reach out to others who are
enthusiastic in contributing to this site. Ideas and any debates are
solicited on this mailing group.

In the meantime, I will go ahead and get the ball rolling on the basic
website infrastructure.

Regarding the links to various sites, feel free to update this
document with additional links. Also please critique on the categories
that these links are organized under. If you have any trouble
accessing the doc, please let me know.

I need to connect with some folks from our last meeting who were
suggested to help with the website development. Could someone connect
me with Johari Dhanotra, Arvind, Anup Jayadeva and Suresh Bajaj?

Thanks,
Milind

Milind,

Suresh Bazaj's email is sur...@bazaj.org . Alternatively sur...@nokeena.com

I am copying him on this. I have spoken to him about adding CleanTech content to the iit.org site. Please send him the content you want featured on the site.
Regards,

Sanjiv

Thanks Sanjiv.

Hi Suresh:

As you can tell from this mail, we are currently figuring out what
needs to go on the site. But at a high level, this is what this site
may need:

1> A facility for folks to add/delete new links to other sites, a-la-wiki.

2> A facility for folks to discuss on material found on other internet
sites which our site will have links to.

3> A way to reuse most of the methods employed today for 1 and 2
above. So for example, if with LinkedIn, we can do 2 well, we should
be able to leverage that as opposed to create something on our own.

Would love to hear your and others thoughts on this. For example, what
is the activity that exists today on Pan-IIT or any internet site that
comes closest to what we would like to do? We could use that as a
template to start off.

Thanks,
Milind
