Hi Everyone,

After gentle reminders/nudging, shoving/pushing and finally arm-
twisting by key senior members of this group, I have been asked to
call this meeting to follow up on the highly successful Spring event
on CleanTech.

Let me invite you to a call next Tuesday, May 12th at 6pm to 7pm.
Following is the call info:

+1 641-715-3840 Passcode 956760

The Agenda will be

1. to discuss what should be the follow up actions of our conference
(another event, special clearing house for opportunities for IIT
community, web based services to the community such as a resource-
guide, R&D with the IITs, etc)

2. should we decide to hold an event sometime in summer, what will it
be like? (timing, focus, target speakers, etc)

This will be ambitious enough to start with. We can later decide to
gather in person (perhaps even at the TiECon) to follow up on this
discussion. See you...

All my friends in the Bay Area (all two of them: Sanjiv and Milind) showed up for the meeting along with Gulab (representing Sid).  Here are the minutes:

1. We decided to have a Clearing House of information for the alumni on the www.iit.org website.  Milind volunteered to lead the effort and needs to work with the webmaster.  Sanjiv suggested that Johari may be interested in working on this as well.  The information we collect and share will be about various events, resource sites, education materil/courses, job/career opportunities, etc.

2. Aug 8th is the date we have tentatively picked for the next event.  We have to pick a theme and then go recruit speakers.  The date will shift based on availability of key speakers.  Sanjiv has volunteered to rope in the keynote.

Next meeting will be in person on Friday May 15th at the TiECon at 6:30pm.  We will meet at the Speakers' Registration Booth and find a room right behind there.

All,

You don't need to be registered for or attend TieCON to attend this Pan IIT meeting. You can come to the main lobby of the Convention Center (not the hotel) by 6.30. (You will see the registration booths to your left).

On the keynote speaker, I have offered to get Charlie Gay of Applied Materials, if the team wants him. Any other keynote will need to be arranged by Anil / others. We should try John Doerr again, maybe through Kanwal Rekhi, instead of Ajit Nazre. Let's discuss it on Friday.
Thanks,

Sanjiv

Guys - sorry to have missed all of you last couple of meetings - we were blessed with a baby boy on tuesday may 12 (thanks!), so things are likely to be a little hectic, but I'm there with you in thought, and hopefully, soon, in action.

Congratulations Amit.  This change of family status will be challenging but hopefully shouldn't put you out of commission for more than 22 years!!

Everyone -

We had a good meeting at TiECon yesterday.  Milind is all set to create a funda PanIIT CleanTech Resource Center (PCRC).  It will not only consolidate many resources in the area on CleanTech (seminars, events, bootcamps, educational info, etc), but will also link to companies hiring in CleanTech, enable interactive blogs for alumni to find each other for common interests, etc.

Secondly we agreed to do a monthly dinner on 2nd Monday of the month (starting month depends on availability of speakers) at TiE office.  That way we will have predictability of events and a great forum for alumni to come network and find each other.

next meeting notice will be sent out soon.
