So I found the Fiat dealer early on, got a bit excited as I thought to myself "maybe, just maybe, my car is in the game..." I scroll through to the Fiats past the Maseratis and I find the Punto Evo, but it's not the Abarth! I'll confess to not being capable in any way, shape or form of being able to provide the model or sounds or anything, but it's a shame to see the 500 Abarth and not the 124 Spider or the Punto (Grande or Evo). Does anyone know if it even exists in a mod form for TDU? I've had a quick browse, and not found anything. The only game I'm aware of the Abarth Punto existing is in Assetto Corsa, I recently saw it's been modded into that but it's probably come from somewhere else, right?

You need to go to Documents/Test Drive Unlimited/savegame/. Then create a folder called Radio in your save folder. Then create another folder inside Radio, call it whatever you want. Then put in your MP3's. Remembering there's a maximum limit of 32 files in there.

I might have had that issue. Try exiting the game and restarting. I thought it might've been just me and it only happened a few times on some early missions so I didn't bring it up. Anyway, heres what I wrote down earlier:

Which vehicles are missing the sounds? So i can check them out.

Cockpit cameras are not a bug, if i bring the camera further back, you will see a headless neck appearing in your screen... so, yeah, no. To fix that only unlocking the car file .bnk.

Also, which cars that are manual that have paddle shift animation?

TDU Platinum cars are not really meant to be driven in that form. Lol

I started making a list, but it seems every 2nd or 3rd car is missing (or very quiet) sound in certain views. Usually when in cockpit/hood/bumper view and looking back, but too many to list. Still working on a list of cars with wrong animation (which it seems is not only animation, but cars act like they have paddle shift as well) and cars with unsynched cockpit gauges. This isn't to seem negative or hate on the mod, just bug reporting.

Also helps. But some cars really had to get a "closer" view. I tested all the cameras in the lowest and further back possible in the "Seat Position" menu, to really avoid the headless neck from appearing on screen. Lol

There's an option in the Paradise launcher to disable steering wheel + character, would it be possible to implement something that just disables the character and not the steering wheel as well? That would be a good alternative in my opinion.

- After adding Paradise launcher .exe and d3d9.dll into game directory (per the instructions in tdu_client.zip), game not started, nothing appeared but process was running so i had to kill it via Windows Task manager.

- I launched "TDU_PC_Patch_166A - Test Drive Unlimited Patch 1.66A.exe". Then game (launched via "TDU - Project Paradise Launcher.exe") saying: "A required security module cannot be activated. This program cannot be executed (5024). Please have a look at ... securom ...".

- That error is related to some protection in regards to CD/DVD rom so i coppied the cracked .exe to my game directory (C:\Program Files (x86)\Atari\Test Drive Unlimited). Crack is from the Hatred crack team, archive: htd-tdu6.zip (VirusTotal clean, unmodified, see alternative DLs) and launched "TDU - Project Paradise Launcher.exe" and it launched immediately (i selected Big bnk during launch).

- I created new offline profile and i am driving successfuly. Now how to use my already built profile from the past times. I quit the game. Go to C:\Users\MyUserName\Documents\Test Drive Unlimited, rename savegame to savegame_ and paste savegame with my own old profile. Note that there are savegames to DL on the net possibly, but you can also start a new profile from the game.

- i have found that my savegame (C:\Users\MyUserName\Documents\Test Drive Unlimited) was possibly somehow badly modified by my previous attempts to make the game working, so i renamed the savegame folder and copied over my fresh savegame backup, that did it and all working.

7) select your existing online profile in the game (if not have one, create new). Confirm that the nickname is valid. Tick the tickbox of GameSpy. Do NOT touch/modify your email and password. And execute. Profile should be loaded and you be on the Hawai along with other players all around the world ).

Online game play of TDU1 depends on a one or a few persons behind the Project Paradise (linked above). Check that linked discussion thread recent posts for possible updates. As of writing the online game play with other players works good.

download 1 or download 2 . The downloaded files should have some kind of readme/installation text file so follow it. Subscribe to the discussion topic under link "download 1" and ask there if you have any issue.

- connecting to testdrive server - unable to connect - try to delete TDU from Windows firewall and any other firewall. If that does not help, try to add it again among allowed firewall apps, try temporarily disabling firewall.

From there you can configure how the session will work. Be it free ride (start and go), time trial (only shows you opponents times at various points), or Running Start (allows you time to build up prior to start).

But, the newly released functionality this week that changes this is the Google Earth mode. This mode enables you to see the course as if you were within Google Earth. I played around with it a bit on one of my GPS routes (oddly enough, from running this past weekend in a 10K race), but it provided a good completely random sample of how things might look.

The details shown on the screen are largely the same as other workout types within the platform. The only difference is that the text boxes have a transparent aspect to them to avoid overshadowing the video too much:

From there I can click on a given activity and get more detail about it. Along the side of the activity I have little pop-outs that will change the size of the graph, display more detailed information (such as below), and show zone information.

I think you got the red speed numbers wrong. I see the numbers go red, when the screen numbers differ from the speed of the rear wheel as seen on my Garmin. In other words the red numbers are to compensate for the BKOOL not having a motor to drive the wheel on descends. I reckon the speed is estimated from the delivered power, rider weight and slope of the downhill.

I started to train with a gpx trace, and after some minutes of pedaling the
simulator (BSIM) show a window asking if I want to end the session. After that, everything looks
like not working anymore. If I continue to pedaling, the system show nothing.

I just picked one of there up today in Australia. Ive noticed the one i have has a different roller on the trainer to the one in this article. Mine has a grooved silver coloured steel roller. I wonder if mine is a new model and this is an amendment to prevent slippage when standing ? Or is mine maybe an older model and the one in article is the new model?

Its a nice gadget but not suitable for serious training uphill.
I needed a second trainer for the holiday home so decided to buy another Kurt Kinetic Road Machine (5 turns of the adjustment knob and 9 bar gives accurate power readings with a Continental GP4000S)

thanks for the in depth review. i`ve been looking at investing in a turbo trainer with more features than a standard turbo so i can tailor my training with a bit more structure. just going to to scour the `net now to try and find the best deal.
thanks

HI,
I wonder whether you can write workouts alone with intervals. currently i use the Tacx Satori and Garmin 800. I prepare on Garmin intervals with multiple repetitions. Does this also allows bkool?

As of today (December 13th), the BKOOL can be controlled using their software and can control the resistance of the terrain to follow terrain. They are releasing an update to their app that allows you to specify a wattage value, though my understanding is that is more spring-like.

thanks a lot for the very clear reply.
I dont know which continent you are on right now, but your always on top of it it seems, at whatever time of the night or day! many thanks again
regards from Congo

Downloaded and started your software. Also downloaded both the free sessions. I can start and play the video sessions but riding speed is very slow (video runs veeery slow and watts are only just above 50) with no resistance on the trainer. Please give me specific directions for testing if you want to know more.

No, not quite yet. As of today (December 30th), the BKOOL can be controlled using their software and can control the resistance of the terrain to follow terrain. They are releasing an update to their app that allows you to specify a wattage value, though my understanding is that is more spring-like.

A previous comment mentioned not being able to use the trainer with a macbook computer? Is it true there is no functional support with apple? If so, do you know if they have any plans to potentially change this?
