Hi everyone,

I was wondering why the original website http://abacus.gene.ucl.ac.uk/research/ is no longer available. I need the package and pamlx interface installed on my new work computer but the IT department doesn't want to install it from github directly without the original website. Was it moved somewhere?

Thanks in advance!

Hi there,

Apologies for the late reply, I completely missed this message!

We have been having issues with the current server, and are still waiting to have this fixed. In the meantime, please download the latest PAML release from the PAML GitHub -- in fact, the lab website (when accessible) already included a link to the PAML GitHub repository to download PAML!

Regarding pamlX, please note that, as far as I am concerned, this graphical user interface is not maintained anymore. Running all PAML programs from the terminal is the best way (and the one we always recommend!) to ensure best performance. Nevertheless, if you still want to use it (at your own risk), you can still find the executable files and instructions to install pamlX on our PAML Wiki.

We hope to get the lab website up and running as soon as possible, but please bear with us until we get this done. You can check our PAML GitHub site and PAML Wiki for software updates and our "paml-tutorial" GitHub site for PAML-related tutorials.

Hope this helps!
Sandy
