Dear PAM,

Please share with your friends!

If you are looking for a little relief from the grinding news cycle, we hope you will accept this invitation from Peace Action New York State to a virtual house party. Of course, since this is Peace Action, we are going to learn a little while we party!

On Friday evening, 7pm-8:30pm, May 29, there will be Frances Perkins Virtual House Party to celebrate the inspiring legacy of the first woman in the U.S. Cabinet. As FDR's Secretary of Labor from 1933-1945, she brought us social security, minimum wage, unemployment compensation and more. We could use more of those kind of big changes now!

We are hoping that House Party attendees will take the time (at their leisure) to view filmmaker Mick Caouette's wonderful one-hour documentary – “Summoned: Frances Perkins and the General Welfare."  As an attendee, you will receive instructions on how to view the film and also support the work of Peace Action New York State.  Then, on May 29th, you are invited to join the Virtual House Party for a lively discussion with filmmaker Mick Caouette, Blanche Wiesen Cook (Eleanor Roosevelt's biographer), and renowned labor historian and Columbia Professor Alice Kessler Harris.

Current members receive a special discounted ticket price. We also welcome new members. If you are not a member yet, you become a Peace Action New York State member with the purchase of a ticket. Press the button below to get your ticket!

Thank you so much! Feel free to share this invitation with friends.
