Dear Friend,
Peace Action is part of the Korean Peace Network and has been advocating for peace on the Korean peninsula with Korean and American peace groups and activists for years. We invite you to join us this Saturday to create a human chain connecting the North and South Korean UN Missions, calling for peace and reconciliation on the Korean Peninsula.
At least 150 people are needed to connect the missions in this symbolic gesture. The event organizers have signed up 100 people. We need your help to reach our goal of 150 or more. If you are able to join the Human Chain, please sign up using this form so that we can tell the organizers that you will be there! (CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP.)
For 77 years, since the end of World War II, the Korean people have been separated.. The Korean War ended with the signing of the 1953 Armistice Agreement, which calls for the conclusion of a formal peace treaty, yet no such treaty has ever been signed. Another round of US wargames in Korea has resumed this week. These major war drills take place several times a year on the Korean Peninsula, destroying hope for inter-Korean relations. These war drills must end.
On April 23, we will symbolically connect the North Korean and South Korean UN Missions in New York, with a human chain. Compatriots and many other allies will join hands to create a human chain to connect the two missions. We will perform our dream to bring the 2 Koreas together. We will lift the hope for reunification high in Manhattan so that our wish will buoy spirits across the thousands of miles in Korea. We cordially invite you to join us to help make this dream come true.
In Solidarity,
Peace Action New York State
