After an extraordinatry week of non-violent direct action, festivities, and training to wake up the world to the climate emergency, we invite you to come Monday, October 14th, Indigenous Peoples Day, to hear from a founding voice of the climate justice movement, Bill McKibben. That evening, he will be presented the William Sloane Coffin Jr Peacemaker Award by 2017 recipient, founder of Sacred Stones, a resistance camp of the Dakota Access Pipeline protests, LaDonna Brave Bull Allard. Leslie Cagan, coordinator of the People’s Climate Movement NY and the former national coordinator of United for Peace and Justice, will emcee the evening. Ramapough Chief Dwaine Perry will officiate the opening of the program.

The evening will also honor the important activism of youth on college campuses with Peace Action Canisius College receiving the Don Shaffer Student Peacemaker Award.
