Our New Playground/Park and Safety

Neighbors, 

If you haven't seen, we are close to completing our new park and should have it ready in about 3 weeks pending some last minute items and inspections.

I am looking forward to seeing families and kids of all ages come out to enjoy our new tennis court, playground, and exercise equipment - all while the city will be adding MORE cars directly across the path of all who will be crossing Pine Street to get there.

In 2004, DDOT had issued a study recommending limiting the use of this 'jughandle' for both the safety of pedestrians and the increased traffic congestion.

Our ANC has been vehemently opposed to this change since DDOT added it to the plans disregarding the concerns of commissioners, residents, and the church. 

Please consider signing on to this petition in support of limiting - not ADDING - cars directly in front of Powell Playground and Park.
