From the github issue tracker,
The second task of the competition is the colored Buoys, and at the moment is the task vision is probably going to start work on next. I am opening this issue for any design concerns or comments.
Of key: What is AI looking for?
From the competition rules,
http://higherlogicdownload.s3.amazonaws.com/AUVSI/fb9a8da0-2ac8-42d1-a11e-d58c1e158347/UploadedImages/2014%20RoboSub/RoboSub_PreliminaryMission_2014.pdf " There will be one 9” (23cm) diameter solid color RED buoy. I'm going to experiment more with my Red Green and Blue buoys (RGB buoys) from RGB LEDs (stop groaning!) or with a 2 or 3 vertical striped color cylinder that rotates. Each buoy will
cycle through various colors. A 3-axis accelerometer will be used to register a bump from the vehicle. The bump will cause the RGB buoy to toggle between cycling through the colors and stopping. Stopping the RGB buoys on all the same colors will result in the maximum points. "
What does AI want for this task? While the rules might change on this, I intend to close this issue within a week or two. Rule changes will have a new issue opened for them.
As of right now, I think the AI will receive the current color of the object, it's location, and an estimated distance. "
Any additional comments?
