Chuck,

Do you have a local contact for Travelers?

I am using MSPAlliance Professional Liability Insurance Program geared directly for IT but I thought I’d see what else is out there.

Subject: [PalmBeachIT Forum] Insurance time again

Once a year around this time I have to renew my insurance.  I know some of you have expressed interest in what I am paying – and I am interested in what you are paying.

I just went round and round with three different agencies for 1 Million General liability.  I added an “Employee non-owned automobile” rider to protect me in case one of my employees get into an accident and they decide to sue me too.  The policy includes wind but not flood.  It has a $25K contents limit.

Hartford was $1250, Travelers was $750/yr for just General liability and the non-owned auto.  Of course this is based on my annual revenue, number of employees, and building type.  Yours may be more or less depending on your circumstances.

ACE has an IT specific 1 million “errors and omission” policy for another $1220/yr.  This protects you in the event one of your employees erases someone’s data and they sue you.

I went ahead with Travelers for now.  I am considering the ACE policy.

Hope this is of some help…  I would be interested in any feedback.

Regards,

Chuck
