Is anyone using Paligo and translation?

We used the built-in translation tools for a small project. But that was a lot of cut and paste, because the import didn't work (I think it was the translator's fault, not the tools).

Now we are starting a huge project for localization of the GUI and translation of the docs.

What tools do you all recommend?
