The JDP is pleased to announce the Career Advisory Network (JDP CAN) |
|
The Career Advisory Network is a way to utilize the experiences and knowledge of our JDP alumni to help and support current JPD students in their professional journeys. Two key initiatives are in progress as part of this endeavor.
- Career Stories – We are recording alumni telling their career stories and offering career advice to current students.
- Career Conversations – We are planning quarterly workshops on career topics of interest to our students. We have a list of JDP alumni who have offered to participate as speakers in these workshops.
We have also started a newsletter specifically to communicate job opportunities to alumni who may be in the job market.
If you are a JPD alumni and would like to contribute to these endeavors or if you want to be on the newsletter mailing list, contact Dr. Rhonda Eaker, Program Manager at Rhonda...@du.edu. |
|
Career Conversations Invitation to Alumni The JDP is planning to hold two Career Conversations this Winter and Spring Quarters in which alumni are invited to share their career-related experiences and stories to students. The topic for Winter Quarter is "How to Find A Non-teaching Career" which includes careers such as advocacy, non-profit administration, research and editing/writing, religious leadership (clergy, etc.), counseling, and others. The topic for Spring Quarter is "How to Get Published," to discuss various types of publication, how to find topics of writing, how to find right publishers, etc. Both are separate conversations in two different times.
We are looking for alumni who would be willing to be speakers for either one of these virtual conversations. Please contact hesron.s...@du.edu if you are interested. |
