to International paleopedology commission
Dear friends of paleopedology attending the WCSS2026 in Nanjing,

I am sending attached the program of a quite special session:
An “Open discussion session on observed phenomena in soils and their underlying processes” (p.42 of the congress program).
All of you are warmly invited to come and contribute to the discussions that will take place over three oral blocks on Thursday (June 11).

It will be great to discuss phenomena and processes with all of you, bringing the experience from different parts of the world together in one room.
Therefore, please, feel free to forward this invitation to others who attend the congress and might be interested, too.

Each topic will start with an inspiring 15 min. presentation, followed by an extended discussion. Everybody is very welcome to enrich the discussions by bringing a USB key with own photos of soil profiles and thin sections, or analytical data, supporting hypotheses of the pedogenic processes addressed.

Looking forward to seeing you in Nanjing,
Daniela
