Dear paleopedologists and all others interested,

WSSC 2026 will begin shortly. Please do not miss the sessions and meetings that may be of interest to you.

On pages 2–3 of the program, you will find the full list of IUSS meetings. In particular, please note the following:

  • Commission 1.6 Paleopedology Meeting: June 11, 2026, 15:25–15:50, Room Nanjing 201.
  • Division 1 Meeting: June 9, 2026, 15:25–15:50, Room Nanjing 201. During this meeting, we will also formally present the Dan Yaalon Young Scientist Medal to Dr. Lilit Pogosyan.
  • Commission 1.1 Soil Morphology and Micromorphology Meeting: June 9, 2026, 15:50–16:15, Room Nanjing 201.
  • Division 1 Working Group: Digital Soil Thin Section Collections: June 9, 2026, 09:03–09:16, Room 5203.

  • Panel Discussion 06 – Open Discussion Session on Observed Phenomena in Soils and Their Underlying Pedogenic Processes: Bring and share photos of your macro- and micromorphological observations and join the discussion on debated phenomena!   • Session 104002 – Classification Systems for the Anthropocene and Human-Made Soils: Tuesday, June 9, 11:15–18:30, Expo Center, Hall 5, Room 5203.
  • Session 101001 – Advances in Soil Morphology and Micromorphology: Unveiling the Earth's Hidden Resource appears to have been rescheduled and is now planned for Monday, June 8, in Room Nanjing 209, Convention Center.
