Dear Friends of Paleopedology,

It is our pleasure to present you the latest Paleopedology Newsletter!
As usual, we collected all relevant information about major past and forthcoming events on Paleopedology.

Please find attached our Newsletter, and we also attach the material prepared by Dr. Cezary Kabala after our Field International Workshop on Paleopedology held in Palenque in February 2026. The soil genesis and classification discussions in field led to publication of the presented soil profiles at the WRB WG website: https://wrb.isric.org/workshops/mexico26.html
Attached is a compressed version, the full version is available at the website.

Another important announcement is about IUSS Digital Soil Thin Section Collections Working Group.

The goal of the IUSS Digital Soil Thin Section Collections Working Group is to establish an international framework for the digitization, characterization, archiving and sharing of soil thin sections collections.
Led by Prof. Richard Heck, this event is planned for on-site participation, in May 2027 at the University of Guelph, Canada.
If you are interested to participate, please help us by completing this 1 minute survey by May 15th:

Hope you will enjoy the newsletter, please do not forget to share your news!

Best wishes

Lilit Pogosyan
