The Stand-Up Olympics of The Greater Metropolitan Chicago Area-ish! 12
comics will be divided into fourteams and each team will be given
specific jokes they have to write ona certain topic, or a certain type
of joke (like a knock knock joke,etc.). For instance each team before
the show will be given a classicchildren’s joke that they have to
write a new punchline to (Why did theboy throw the clock out the
window?), or given a newspaper page andhave to write a topical joke
about an article that appears on it. Therewill also be random audience
suggestions pulled out of a hat your teamswill have to tell jokes
about. Essentially most of the exercises willbe written before the
show (which requires you to be there at least anhour before showtime),
but there will be some improvisational aspectsto it. Each team will
elect a person on their team to present each specific ‘event’.
