Greeting Brewers!

 

The Little Big Brew will take place on Saturday, May 1, 2021. While we are borrowing the name of the Homebrewer’s national holiday, it the event will be very different this year. The purpose of this email is to explain the social distancing measures being imposed and to learn how many people may be interested in participating. Here’s a quick rundown:

 

  • Brewers must be vaccinated for COVID-19. This means you’ve had your second shot (or a J&J shot) 2 weeks prior to 5-1-21.  
  • Total attendance will be limited to just 10 people. If we receive interest from more than ten members, we will pick the 10 via lottery.
  • There will be no monster mash since that requires people to work in close quarters. Therefore, you should have a mash tun and burner and all the necessary equipment to produce a complete brew.
  • The event recipe is a SMaSH (single malt, single hop) using a Kviek yeast.
  • Social distancing and mask wearing will be required of everyone.

 

Of course, the event will be fully compliant with all State guidelines in place now and on May 1. If you can’t join us, but would like to participate by brewing a batch at home, we can certainly add you to the batch count to guarantee ingredients for you.

 

If you have any questions, fire away! If you are interested in participating at the Little Big Brew (or brewing at home), please let me know by the morning of Monday, April 12. Of course, don’t forget to let me know if you want more than 5-gals worth of ingredients.

I'd like to attend but not getting my second shot until April 20th.  I don't know why 2 weeks are required after getting it to participate so have a good time.

Count me in as well. I reached full vaccination status on April 4th. There are a few advantages to being an old guy!

Dave, 

It takes about 2 weeks for the 5G microchip to activate. However, you'll be pleased to know there has been a slight revision to the policy. As long as you've had your 2nd dose prior to the event, you're good. However, for anyone getting the single J&J shot, that needs to have been administered at least two weeks prior to the event.

Holy crap, I think I am actually free for once that weekend. And I've had both shots. Put me down, and I will double confirm.

WIll it be at the insurance agency? We may want to renew our insurance then.

Just sending out a last call email for the Little Big Brew! Three spots remain.

 

I have down as participating: Tim, Lance, Mike Ultee, Drew (2 batches), and Kevin, James and myself.

 

Jet.sceamer, I didn’t hear back from my email to you looking for a confirmation.

 

I’m going to send all the brewers a few possible times for a zoom call to talk more about the event (including the sharing of the location, recipe details, etc.).
