This past Tuesday,  November 17, we lost fellow brewer, food/drink enthusiast, and good friend Jack Stawowczyk. Jack became ill in the summer, underwent extensive treatment and procedures,  but ultimately succumbed to an aggressive form of cancer and passed peacefully at home.

He leaves behind a wife and son who some of you met over the years that Jack participated in our club.

Jack was a warm, generous, inquisitive man who explored the world of food in a way that showcased his many talents, not only as a brewer but as someone who could bake, roasted his own coffee, smoked meats and experimented with a variety of fermentable and Polish delicacies.

We will miss his ever present smile and welcoming spirit.

If you have a photo or a memory of Jack that you can share with the club, please forward them to me and we will post the collection and share with his family. One day when it is safe to do so, we can gather to remember his life. In the interim, lift a glass to a good man and a good friend.

Jack’s services are on Saturday December 5, at 10am, at Holy Cross Church.  The address is 215 Adeline Street,  Trenton NJ 08611. Thanks to everyone that sent me photos and stories about Jack. I’m going to setup a page on our website as a memorial. So, keep them coming! There’s always room for more.
