My Will
One thing I don't lack
Is the will to survive.
I've learned to bounce back
Sure as I am alive.
With method, I move
Choosing not to refrain.
I get back in the groove
With a will to sustain.
I have taken more blows
Than a life should permit
But it's helped me to grow
To a woman with wit.
Clever and keen
Resourceful and proud
Holding fast to my dreams
I don't run with a crowd.
I still have my pride
And I've earned every scar
Now I take life in stride
And I'm stronger by far.
As I face my affairs
Which I will till I'm gone,
Then I hope that with grace
I can swiftly move on.
