Gratitude

Oh gentle friend,
Your words tonight
Like flower petals in the scented springtime fell
Upon the zephyr's wings so featherlight
And turned my worried look into a smile.

Your quiet soul
Reached out to mine
Inviting me to come and take a soothing dip
Into these waters of the purest kind
So plunging in, I let resistance slip.

With cleansing breath
I closed my eyes,
Let go and let myself lie back for hours
Peace and tranquility was then applied
And soon I felt its esoteric powers.

I never cease
To be amazed
When I'm need of comfort and caress,
Someone like you, comes softly to my aid.
Because of you, I'm once again refreshed.

We never know
From day to day
When life becomes unbearably insane,
Whose heart will be the one to reach our way
And lift our spirits up when they have waned.

The fact that you
Believe in me
Has given me new strength to carry on,
And grateful for the things you've helped me see
I'll gladly do my part and add my song.
