In the Beginning…
Had Adam given Eve the apple,
Would labor be his lot?
And would women have to grapple
With the pain from whence we got
The measure of our treatment
If seduction was his move?
Would it make a different statement,
Then if somehow we could prove
That the impulse she was fighting
He’d have fought for all his worth
Would he be the one now biting
At the air in childbirth?
