Defensively, the Tigers have come up with two turnovers and four sacks (three by Michael Wright Jr.).
Michael Wright Jr. scored the third TD of the afternoon for the Tigers. More known for his work on the Tigers' powerful defensive line, Wright scored on an 8-yard run with 9:57 left in the half. The Tigers lead 21-0 after the Vinny Keller PAT.
Massillon set up this TD drive with an onside kick recovery. Quarterback DaOne Owens keyed the drive with a 21-yard run before Dorian Pringle delivered runs of 10 and 5 yards to set up the TD. The Tigers have outgained the Bulldogs 158-16 at this point.
The Tigers lead 6-0 after one quarter and are in the red zone looking to add on. When the second quarter begins, the Tigers have secnd-and-3 from Bulldogs 18. Massillon QB DaOne Owens just picked up a fourth-and-5 with a nice throw to Braylyn Toles, who scored the game's lone TD earlier in the quarter.
The Bulldogs last win in the series came in 2015. It was the final game at old Fawcett Stadium in Canton. The game-winning touchdown was scored memorably by McKinley quarterback Dominque Robinson, who pinwheeled into the end zone at the end of a run. Robinson is now a second-year defensive end with the Chicago Bears.
The Norsemen, hosting their first playoff game in over a decade, strike first against Clarke. Sam Knoll found Trevor Britten from 26 yards out. Britten made a nice diving snag in the end zone for the score.
The series was kept alive by a fake punt call from OSU. Facing fourth-and-inches near midfield, OSU sent the punt team onto the field but the players shifted and the ball was snapped to backup running back Elijah Collins, who powered forward for the first down.
