PALACE FANS WALK 2012

As you may have heard on-air, seen online or read in the programme, this Friday a group of Palace fans including Palace Radio’s Nigel Wearing are setting off on a charity walk from Selhurst Park to Reading's Madejski Stadium, the aim being to reach their destination in time for the match on Saturday.

Most right-minded fans will be making the journey by train or car, instead this group will be on foot taking in the delights of Thornton Heath, Colliers Wood, Mitcham, and Staines. If they walk fast enough and complete the planned 33 miles on day one they will get to enjoy an overnight stay in Bracknell's finest Travelodge before completing the walk on Saturday.

This year the Palace Fans Walkers are raising money for The Geoff Thomas Foundation in support of Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research. All your support, both in the form of donations and general encouragement is much appreciated; follow them on Twitter for up to the minute progress reports and the blister count.

We are pleased to see that the BBC Weather service has revised their forecast to "Heavy Rain" for both days!

Thank you very much in advance for your support and encouragement and to those who have already donated.

Walk organiser Neil Witherow was interviewed on Palace Radio last Saturday. Download the interview here (mp3 - 14MB - 15m14s)

Best wishes!
