So I ordered the full boat from Tindie, and finished the basic PAL-1. Was extremely happy it worked on first power. I'm going to build the other accessories "soon", starting with the expansion / motherboard.

I have a Vice Briel MicroKIM from days gone by so I didn't really need a new KIM replica, but I can't help myself. Plus I figure my purchase may help the developer keep developing. For some reason I never got around to really flexing the MicroKIM, so with all the accessories on the PAL-1, that'll be exciting.

I don't need an enclosure, but does anyone know a good source or method to install key caps? I don't have a 3D printer...

Welcome to our small community! The expansions indeed are fun to have. I have a maxed out MicroKIM (memory, multi I/O) , and two PAL-1s and more 6502 SBCs I can count ...

Warm welcome!

About the keys, the keys in the kit are chosen for the purpose of not requiring keycaps, the stem shape of this type of key switch makes it difficult to add normal keycaps to them.

To make typing easier, I write letters on the top of the stem with a paint marker (Schneider Maxx 271) and seemed to work well.
btw, the ongoing PAL-2 will have better key switches and key caps than the PAL-1.

Happy Hacking 6502~
