hi
thank you so much again for letting me in!
finally i could get in!
got a pal-2, seems mine works almost alright.
however jumpering 21 to v on application connector for ttl operation causes turning off the pal-2 or least LEDs getting light-off
could you tell me any suggestions?

That is expected behaviour.
The LED displays go out then.
When that jumper is installed the KIM-1 monitor starts looking at the serial TTY connection, waiting for you to press Enter.
Then it will print KIM-1 and you can enter commands on the serial monitor.
Of course that requires the USB to serial also connected,
