I am a total klutz, the kind of person who should never be left around loose wires andthings that can plugged in wrong.

Or things that get lose.

The USB->UART adaptor that came with my PAL-2 is already attached to the board, but just for power.  Will likely get removed in the future.

I hooked up a second USB->UART, a power switch and a LED/TTY switch via a small hand-wired board.

I've seen people make those boards into works of art.  Mine is not one.  But it works.

Funny. I took the same route.
A switch to flip between serial and onboard. An rgb led to show connection status and also connected the third color to D0 for blinking purposes.

Good to see these examples!

I'm having difficulty finding the right USB-C cable to make the connection between my MacBook Air port and the HW-234 input. I want to use that method to both power the PAL-II AND communicate with it. Anyone have a good spec for the cable, maybe even a link where to purchase it?

Hi John,

Any USB-C data cable will be OK. Some cables that come with cellphones might be charge-only with just two wires and may not work.
