Vice Representative Selection, Rules, and Your feedback

Dear PakSKKU,

Aslam o Aliekum!

Background: At the end of the this year we can expect double the current community number (from 22 to 40) and so we need to be more active and enthusiast. I am very happy to observe that community is becoming increasingly active and socially active. We have facebook and googlegroup forums. Some Pakistani brothers have very busy lab schedules and cannot showup much so we need to find a way to involve them but respect their space as well. We should also help other communities so that as Pakistanis we become number one friendly community here at SKKU. In just couple of months we have already shown great progress; for example:

-Setting up Prayer Room (which was Muslim community demand by last three years or so...)

-Represented Pakistani students from SKKU at KISSA open forum (took-place at parliament house)

-Social forums; Facebook and google groups

-Airport receiption 

-4 Room and houses arrangements at best prices :)

-Help in admission process

-Kangwha Island tour, SKKU Seoul campus visit (lot of free stuff)  

Purpose of VR (Vice Representative): VR can represent community whenever or where Representative is unable to be present. VR can facilitate community and assist him, and should take any initiative after consultation with community  and approval of Representative. This is to avoid conflict and better service. International office has asked for the name of vice representative.  

Selection Process:

I support the need to vice representative but even more important will be the need to coordinate among our-selves. Every, reservations should be handled within and by community and unity is most important. So, If any one is interested please let the community know about it. 

1. Interest show-up (candidacy),only student is enough to name a candidate for vice representative (One week - 5 June)

2. Vote: number of students supporting a candidate (One week - 12 June)

3. Selection: base on most votes (13 June)

Feedback: Should we have more VR for different jobs or we can name students based on interest in either of following on adhoc bases:

• Food festivals
• Trips
• Social services

OR we can co-ordinates among ourselves for above activities.
