Potohar Mental Health Association (PMHA) is organizing a three day
workshop July 13,14 &15, 2016 on "Disability Sensitization" for the
staff members of
civil society organizations (NGOs, CBO’s, DPO’s, INGO’s). This
workshop is designed by Zulqurnain Asghar who is first visually
impaired practicing Psychologist
in the history of South Asia.

Aim :

Participants develop an enhanced understanding of issues related to
disabilities to make the workplace inclusive and disabled friendly
Participants learn and understand that every one has a role in valuing diversity
Participants learn effective ways of assisting Persons living with
Disabilities at workplace and home
Demonstrate that it’s a win-win situation when we effectively assist
and interact with our coworker, family and friends living with
disabilities

Topics:

A. Disability in Pakistan / Understanding Disability
B. Stigma / perception related to Person living with Disabilities
C. Discrimination and its impact on Person living with Disabilities
D. Women living with Disabilities
E. Do’s and Don’ts of Disabilities
F. Effective Communication (Verbal and Non Verbal) with Person living
with Disabilities
