There is a new resource in the Journal of Mobile Teaching (http://mobileteaching.org/) – a feature called “The Watching App” - discussing issues related to requiring teachers to use “free stuff” and schools that require kids to BYOD. It is the first of three parts to deal with the potential for “vicarious liability” (within the invasion of privacy area) if the free apps gather personal information about students without permission.
There is an interesting and potentially damaging downside to the free stuff, it seems.
