Respected Members Organizations

Greetings from All Pakistan NGOs Alliance – APNA

As you all have received an open invitation for a Live Webinar on Thursday, October 13, at 11:00 am Pakistan Standard Time with the “Consultative Session on the Proposed EAD Policy for Foreign Funding of Local NGOs in Pakistan” organized by APNA and UGOOD in Collaboration with Blue Veins. Syed Ishtiaq Gilani, a Founding Member of APNA, and Mr. Qamar Naseem, a Convener of APNA – KPK will be the Key Speakers, and Mahvish Memon, National Coordinator of APNA will be Moderating the Session. This webinar is facilitative and free of cost.

The main objective of the webinar is to obtain the feedback of the National NGOs in Pakistan to enhance NGOs understanding of the proposed EAD Policy 2022 and accumulate the concerns and queries that arise in the mind of implementers of projects at the local level. The live webinar will help us plan a way forward to discuss gaps with all relevant stakeholders and also develop our advocacy initiatives for strengthening the voices of NGOs.

Introduction
All Pakistan NGOs Alliance - APNA is a Body of Professional Think-Tanks from Civil Society Organizations across Pakistan, which aims to empower civil society and improve the institutional environment by working on policies and laws that aim at enhancing the influence of civil society organizations, on issues of public dialogue and showcasing the important role civil society has in the implementation and accountability of humanitarian and social developmental agenda.

Background
APNA is a Movement of Civil Society Organizations in Pakistan that was established in January 2010, by the Think Tanks of National Organizations under the aegis of UGOOD. APNA is striving to serve its member organizations by leading a coordinated technical backstopping, outreach, and advocacy effort under a unified platform. Its primary purpose is to create an environment in Pakistan, where civil society actors can participate, connect, and multiply their contributions, to generate sustainable solutions and raise voices for meaningful participation in the developmental stratosphere. APNA works on enhancing the capacity of civil society on policy dialogue, good governance, strategic planning, humanitarian coordination, and fundraising. It enables civil society to play a significant part in the achievement of national and international developmental commitments of Pakistan by highlighting actual communal needs and optimizing resource allocation for them. APNA also aspires for Influencing policy change and enacting systemic change via innovative research, policy reviews, dialogues, surveys & consultations that are led by local and national actors.

Objectives

1.      Establishing partnerships and strategic alliances with national and international NGOs to work along the lines of UN Human Rights Reporting Instruments and Communication Format.

2.      To influence government entities and institutes by crafting major policy agendas through conducting research, providing advice, and advocacy in a wide range of topics such as social policy, protection of fundamental human rights, expression, and access to information.

3.      To provide advice and ideas on specific social, cultural, and economic problems and unite all the social sectors/alliances under a single platform to raise the voice and build the capacity of the civil society organizations of Pakistan to become more effective by using UN Human Rights Mechanisms.

Keeping in view the above policy points you all are requested to prepare feedback that contains the positive impact this policy will bring or the hurdles you think it may cause. Either this policy will bring ease to Local NGOs/NPOs in acquiring foreign contributions or it will make the process more complicated. Which sector will have a greater impact? Or you can ask questions from our speakers to clear any confusion regarding any clause of the Policy.

We are looking forward to a positive, enthusiastic, and meaningful Webinar.

Please feel free to ask, if you have any queries.
