Dear All

Greetings from Rabta Kar,

Pakistan has recently been hit by massive floods, which have affected more than 30 million people in all parts of Pakistan across the country. We all know that during disasters and emergencies, the vulnerabilities of the weak and vulnerable groups increase significantly and the chances of abuse and exploitation multiply greatly. Children are especially vulnerable to natural disasters and crises. Lessons learned from the past have shown that too often, organizations do not prioritize the safeguarding needs of children when emergencies strike, although, working with children, especially vulnerable children living in high-risk environments, means that inevitably staff and associates will at some stage be confronted by child safeguarding concerns of one kind or another.

It is of utmost importance that the capacity of teams of the organizations working in humanitarian settings be built on safeguarding practices and policies. These trainings are the perfect way to ensure that your teams on the ground have the skills that they need in order to be able to provide a service that protects children and young people.

Rabta Kar Development Consultants is one of the very few organizations in Pakistan which offer tailored building workshops on Safeguarding techniques to the staff of the organizations working in the field in humanitarian emergencies. These trainings would help the team members in
1.    Learning who may be vulnerable
2.    Recognizing tell-tale signs of abuse and neglect
3.    Improve your team's communication ability
4.    Increase trust in your institution
5.    Enabling staff to record and report abuse and neglect appropriately

At the moment, the humanitarian operations are in full swing and international organizations and their local partners are engaged in the providing relief services to the affected populations. It is high time that the staff members working at the field level are provided these trainings so that they are able to follow the best practices and ensure that children and other groups and safe and protected.

We would like to get an opportunity to meet with you and your management team to discuss the possibility of collaboration in this regard. Our team is available at any time of your convenience for the proposed meeting.

Kind Regards

Aftab Ahmed Awan
