There has always been something about the robed figure
that fascinated me. Possibly ever since I saw the Exorcist when
I was 16 years old (it was an 18 cert movie). I was intrigued by
the struggle between good and evil and how the priest had to
confront his own demons in his attempts to save Regan.

Here, the title poses questions.

I love this painting Nigel.
As a priest myself I agree with your very perceptive comments about
personal demons.
In my experience the worst one says "Who do you think you are?" which
is very disabling.
As a woman I also watched the soul searching that the ordination of
women caused, and some men did
walk away. This must be a tangled emotion if you feel that it is a
vocation - a calling by God into ministry.
They say every picture tells a story and I feel that you have told
ours.

I think your work is in itself a ministry- because it invites people
to explore something deeply spiritual
I love the sense of movement you achieve. A feeling that nothing is
static, we move on as we look.
