Node disconnection delay

The onDisconnect function takes a lot time to trigger. like about 10~15 seconds.
and also consider this situation where i am having 3 nodes.
node 1
node 2
node 3
node 1 is connected to node 2
node 2 is connected to node 3.
if i turn off node 2 and bring the node 1 to the range of node 3 sometimes it wont connect automatically and most of the times it takes about greater than 10 seconds.
are there any ways to solve these issues .. ?
