Hello, in my new PC with Windows 10, I connected the LaserJet 1160 printer following the instructions HP, to install the driver "USB (DOT4) communication driver for Windows 8 and Higher (64-bit)" for the LaserJet 1160 printer, but unfortunately it does not work. When I connect the printer with the USB cable, the PC detects the model but can not find the driver. I also tested the universal driver for HP printers, but it does not work. It 's really strange that it does not even recognize the basic software for a simple print, first with the Windows 7 everything worked. Has anyone found the solution to this problem? Thank you.

I have a desktop running Win 10 Pro 64bit Ver 1803 that I successfully installed my HP LJ 1160 manaully using the Windows Update button (see pic) in 2018. I just got a new laptop (Win 10 Home 64bit Ver 1809) the other day and tried to install the same printer in the same manner as the desktop, but now it's not there anymore.
Yes GiantoD60 the HP site has a DOT4 driver, but that's only for the USB driver part and not the full print driver set. I took this a step further and downloaded several of the most recent Microsoft Catalog drivers for my system (even Win 8/7):
I have a LaserJet 1160. It continues to print all documents in simplex form. I have tested this with multiple documents. I have tried plugging the printer USB into different USB ports. I did not encounter this problem when printing from my WIndows 10 laptop, connected using the same USB cable.
Well, it would seem then that my recollection of printing duplex perviously was imagined. The myriad options for enabling duplex printing which the software and drivers display must be the result of an oversight on the part of HP.
Before Windows 10 I could print multiple copies with no problem. Now with Windows 10 all I can print is 1 copy no matter what I do to various settings. Now the Mopier mode is grayed out along with various other functions within printer properties dialog box. Am I missing something simple?

Check what your effective permissions are; you'd need 'Manage this printer' access; this example shows my (non-admin) user does not have this access (hence all of the "device settings" values are grayed out when viewed whilst logged-in to this user.
I would disconnect the printer, download the current driver from HP.com, delete the installed driver, then load the new driver.
Reconnect the printer when the installation program asks or after it finishes.
Success!! Once I got to the "View effective access" tab nothing was listed. I had to search for each user and then once the users were listed I had to edit each user and check the appropriate boxes. Once that was accomplished, then all of the functions in the "Device Tab" of my "printer properties" dialog box changed from Gray to Black. I was then able to disable the Mopier Mode. I can now print as many multiple copies as I want. Thank you very much for your help. It is greatly appreciated.
i have the same problem. I do not understand the technical jargon. all i can tell is that my toshiba is notifying the hp laserjet 1160 to print muliple copies of a single page and it only prints one copy. it's extremely frustrating to have a machine be an insubortinate. please help clarify how i can come to a solution.

desde la web HP -es/drivers/selfservice/hp-laserjet-1160-printer-series/410618 pero al ejecutar el programa, comienza a instalarse y en 2 segundos se cierra la venta de instalacin si informar error ni ninguna otra cosa.
Buenas tardes FERrx. Gracias por tu consejo. Lo he bajado pero al tratar de instalarlo obtengo el siguiente mensaje "Utilice el asistente para agregar impresoras para instalar la impresora en este sistema operativo".
Intent nuevamente utilizar el asistente para agregar impresoras pero no hay drivers para HP Laser 1160. Tambin intent con ese mismo asistente ir a buscar la carpeta donde se descomprimi el soft de los drivers que me recomendaste bajar pero no permite instalarlo.
