This upcoming week's class is optional and will be a time to talk
about job interview English and possibly some strategies for
interviewing and resume writing. Think of 4 or 5 things you would
like to work on in our next class. What I mean is think of some
things you would like to get better at and/or things that you want to
know more about in English. This will help you prepare for our
discussion and of course help me prepare as well. Please post early
in the week rather than last minute! :) Also, please make sure to
get your workbook to me so that I can mark off that you did it. See
you soon. Lastly, as stated in the subject, please post the link to
your voicethread presentation here. Great work this semester!

Sung-hee,

Great pictures! I love the use of maps along with the team logos!

Interesting issue to try and draw in women to the games. Do they do
ladies night in Korea? One thing my home town team does is offer women
the chance to meet some of the players and the game first hand.

I'm not sure if you are saying swearing cursing and fighting is a
problem or not. This wasn't clear.

I love that the tickets are so cheap. I'm sure prices will go up
according to how popular the sport becomes.

It would be interesting to know where baseball ranks in popularity in
Korea. I mean I guess soccer is the most popular sport followed by
baseball and then basketball is next. Is that right?

Nice work on the project! And on this semester!

Izard,

Very professional, very clear and easy to follow!

Love the opening picture on the contents page.

The shapes of the hotels is quite unique! It's really great to see
this.

This would make me want to stay at the Hyatt (if i had enough money)!
Whose picture did you use for your profile?? :) Looks like Robert
Downey Jr (from IronMan)!

You may be able to use this presentation to help you land a job/
internship there! Nice work!

One thing to make sure to pronouce properly though is the word,
"suite" You are pronouncing, "suit" but it should be pronounced
"sweet" :)

Also, you are pronouncing Abu Dhabi incorrectly. You are saying, "Abu
Doobie" but we say this city, "Abu Da-bee"

I love that you added references to your project as well! Fantastic!

Jeong-Hee,

Interesting to hear that is the largest airline in Asia. Great fact!
I like the different pictures of the different planes.

Largest fleet of 747s in the world...again interesting fact!

One thing that would be interesting to know about would be current
issues or happenings in the company. The ending was a bit sudden and
it would have been great to hear some sort of a conclusion but nice
work!

Great job this semester!

What interesting pictures in the beginning...the decanter is used
professionally..very interesting.

You should work at the wine bar near my house...They don't know all of
these steps!

Interesting information about showing the customer the cork! Quarter
turn to stop pouring...good tip! 1/2 full for red and 2/3 for white!
Great information. I can't wait to try out these steps! I love it!

Great job!

Se-Min, you had some issues recording the same thing multiple times
for one slide. Make sure when using Voicethread you listen to your
final product before submitting it...there were some somewhat awkward
spots throughout the presentation.

Still, the pictures you used were great. It was interesting to see
you in the role of teacher, a role you look very comfortable in!

I love the picture inside the Koeran embassy...One guy is making a
very funny face! :)

What an incredible book store...it's the 2nd most beautiful book store
in the world...What is the first?

Sang-Mo,

Interesting: World's Largest dedicated air cargo ground service

Huge company. Interesting. This company handles a lot of "behind the

One thing to consider is adding in a conclusion to this presentation.
Nice job!

Kyu-Min,

Land of Gods...what a pretty place!

What great pictures! I love seeing the people laying completely prone,
bowing at the temple! Absolutely fantastic! The Potala Palace is
incredible. That's where the Dalai Lama used to live? I find the
clothes they were extremely interesting as well. The colors they use
are sort of dull and faded as opposed to the bright and colorfull
hanboks you see in Korea!

Yak meat? Sounds interesting.. funny eperience with the greasy
dumplings there! I'll make sure and take extra toilet paper when I
go... :)

You could make this a bit better by having a conclusion at the end but
overall, nice job! Very enjoyable. Thanks for sharing!

Ji Sook,

Hmmm...so a travel agency that specializes in trips to Japan? Sounds
like a good niche market to me. I'm looking to get to Tokyo in early
January. I can't wait.

Great pictures at the temple. Wow...the picture on the street with
the girls in costume...so interesting.. I've been to Fukuoka and saw
the same type of costumes. How creative!

Shopping! Good thing to talk about to tourists!

Food: Those waffles look goooood!

Get a conclusion in there! Otherwise, great job. Very interesting!

Downey Jr featured in IronMan~ I like his performance in that movie.
Also I am grateful that you have picked out what I did wrong and
corrected them as well, thanks very much!!!

Sung-Bu...

Better to save the mic test before you begin recording. :)

What a beautiful hotel..Great picture! Very interesting history..the
beginning of westernized Korea began here...first ice cream! How
interesting!

Careful with your choice of font size on your slides, some of the
writing is a bit small to see.

Great use of a map! I like your use of a historical timeline but you
may be smart to dedicate one slide per picture...it's a lot of
narration for just one slide.

Nice job explaning the rooms. Again, make sure your font is legible
when you create your final product. :)

I like the map of the entire facility.

Top 100 in the world! Wow...great fact! Good job on your final project
and on the semester! Good luck!

Where did you record...sounds like you are in a large empty room...lot
of echo... :)

Great use of map. However, a little difficult to see it.

I love the picture of the fish and the lotus pool.

I would like to know more about the pictures that you showed. I mean
what is significant about each of these sites? What would make me want
to go there besides the fact that they are good photo opportunities?

Guem Yang,

Strange buzzing noise in your project. Voicethread is a great tool but
unfortunately it doesn't let you edit your saved work well. Because of
this, be careful not to record the same thing more than once on the
same slide.

I like the Vision and Mission slide.

Korean air has a fleet of 126. Interesting piece of information!

Wow, that airbus looks huge! Good job explaining this.

I like the flight map and chart of partner air lines!

Those sleeper seats look nice.. :)

I like your explanation of seat based on the class. Korean air has a
pretty decent economy class seat in my opinion!

Wow, really interesting trend in uniforms of the flight attendant over
the years...Nice job on this!

A stronger conclusion would be good here!

Nice work overall!

Min-Ji,

Your volume was a bit low on this. Made it quite difficult to hear
your narration. Also, your first slide had no narration which caused
some confusion.

Great pictures though!

I love the night picture of Brighton! Nice shot!

Wow, you were so close to the edge of that cliff! I can't do that.
I'm too scared of heights. But what an amazing view!

"It could be very good for suicide..hahah"- sorry but that is funny :)

You really do have a pleasant speaking voice. You can hear your smile
and enthusiasm every time you speak. Sounds like I'm on an airplane
listening to a flight attendent!

I've been to Dubai. What a pretty country! It was cool to see that
hotel picture because I've been there.

Interesting to hear about the company slogan!

Great use of maps!

I do remember flying Emirates in 2001 and the entertainment was
great! Wow, they have internet service on the plane? How
interesting.

Wow. a private room on a an airplane? I've never heard of anything
like that. I need to get rich!!

Nice conclusion. Done very professionally. You might consider using
this as part of a video resume for an application! Let me know if you

Hana,

There was a lot of static on your recording but I was able to hear in
spite of this.

There was also a lack of any introduction which makes it a bit
confusing to know exactly what the main topic is. I would consider
starting any presentation with at least a brief introduction of what
you plan to talk about. Without an introduction it is hard to know
why these coffee houses hold relevance to you, which is one of the
criteria of your final project score.

The pictures are fantastic! And the historic facts are quite
interesting! Nice job on those.

It's interesting how cafes were, and in many ways still are, host to
society's intellectuals..

So Starbucks isn't one of the most famous coffee houses? :) Just
kidding :P

So would you consider Italy as the home of coffee. It seems as though
there are more famous cafe's there than any other places.
