As with the Cinema, the Studio has a pink cast without the lens unit but, unlike the cinema, the colour is consistent across the whole of the sensor. I have not yet added an external IR/UV filter on the Studio.

Windows 7 support ended on January 14, 2020. In general Windows SDK, there are DirectShow and Microsoft Media Foundation - Audio/Video Capture for supporting video capture programming. However, if you are looking for a specified SDK for Microsoft Lifecam cinema you may contact your local distributor for help.
Im new here, i setup octoprint on a Raspberry Pi 4B 8GB i have an older Microsoft LifeCam cinema it won't show up on the the control screen i have tried changing the .txt file in boot setting, nothing.
The new Microsoft Lifecam CinemaHD Webcam has some specifications and features that may provideimprovements for planetary, lunar and solar imaging. Most notableis its ability to capture video in 1280x720 high definition resolutionat 30 frames per second via USB 2.0. The Lifecam HD has been gettingvery good user reviews since its introduction in September 2009.Users report that it has very good low light performance in videomode. Microsoft includes what it calls "ClearFrame Technology"and advertises that this technology offers " faster and smootherimage processing". In October 2009, I bought the lifecamHD for $55. I was impressed with the quality of its video in lowlight conditions so I decided to modify it and test it for astroimaging. Using these instructions, the webcam can be modifiedfor daytime infrared imaging as well.
Thanks guys for nice nice comments. When I talk about the Lifecam being better Im talking about streaming. The lifecam can stream 1280720 at 30fps ( I use vidblaster) The Logitech 9000 isnt able to do 30 fps at that resolution. when your recording both are able to do 30fps at 1280720. Another interesting thing I have found is that the Quickcam 9000 vs webcam 9000. BOTH CAN DO WIDE SCREEN. I know there are many sites out there saying that the Quickcam cant do widescreen but it can with the latest drivers. If any of you have questions please feel free to email me .
Great review Krista. Like others I had trouble getting the lifecam to reach 30fps at 720p. I downloaded vidblaster as that is apparently the best place to test them, however still couldnt get the fps. I went and bought an aGent V5 which is a 1080P HD webcam, figuring it would do better and it did. Got 720p at 30fps. And its cheap! google agent v5.
The LifeCam Cinema webcam features a 720p HD image sensor and wideband microphone, with a 16:9 widescreen format for cinematic performance. Rotate the camera up to 360 degrees, with a wide angle lens for viewing a broader area. The camera also uses auto focus, ClearFrame technology and additional software for enhancing video and pictures. Plug the webcam into a USB port and get chatting.
