Hello,
I have a very low score for my website on mobile (33) vs desktop (87). This is mainly because of image size on mobile. On mobile I have an image with src="image_original_size" and then several optional sizes within srcset attribute (srcset="image_resolution_480x480 480w, image_resolution_800x800 800w, image_resolution 1024x1024 1024w, image_resolution1500x1500w". In speed test google is complaining about "image_resolution_1024x1024" and is very interesting because is not the main image nor the biggest. Also most likely is not the chosen image resolution because I have like 10 versions of images (up to 1500x1500 resolution) and on mobile there is no way to display the 1024x1024 version because is way too big. The 1024x1024 can't be even chosen on desktop because I have max 6 images on same row (on 1920 pixel width) and while the resolution decrease the images are going on the next row.
This is quite frustrating because we really did the best to provide our users an exciting browsing experience but it looks like we might be downgraded by google. Scaling up a low resolution image is not an option in my opinion because we have an online store where pictures of the products are very important.
I hope it will get fixed soon...
Thank you.

My banner images are detected correctly. http://www.intercepteft.com

The order you list them is important.

You might want to save your images as progressive encoding, then upload to https://tinyjpg.com
