[BUG] [useragent] JavaScript Useragent doesn't include Lighthouse

I'm not 100% sure if this bug is specific to PSI, or something that comes from the developers tools emulation it uses, but here's the situation:

When we use the PSI tool via https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/ to test a website, Nginx, Apache, PHP, etc, will all detect the correct useragent, which includes a reference to Lighthouse.

However, if we use javascript to detect the useragent, it simply reports an incorrect useragent, probably the emulated version instead of the one above.

I have opened a topic back in December and no dev has commented on it.

Also turns out that when using the api:


Javascript is reading it's useragent from the networkUserAgent field.

PSI should properly report it's username in a consistent way.

Is there something wrong with PageSpeed Insights ?? the records of my website today seems to be wrong
