That's sad news. Page2RSS was the best way to monitor web pages.
For those who are looking for an alternative, here are a few other services more or less similar to Page2RSS (but which only look for text changes, not for pictures):
- Change Detection (
http://www.changedetection.com/ ): pages are checked once a day and you can choose to be notified by RSS or email (I will use that to replace Page2RSS).
- Watchthatpage (
http://www.watchthatpage.com/ ): you can choose how often the pages are checked for changes but it's only by email (no RSS).
- Page2feed (
http://ic.edge.jp/page2feed/ ): pages are checked in real time but it doesn't work like Page2RSS because it's looking for links to convert them to RSS entries.
- PageMon.net (
https://pagemon.net/): it has been on "pre-alpha stage" for years and I don't like the way the changes are shown.
And, of course there are other, more traditional, services to create RSS feeds, but not with the same purpose as Page2RSS:
feedyes.com (you have to pay),
feedity.com (you have to pay),
feed43.com, ...
