Greetings PAESTA Members!

I hope you successfully received our February newsletter this morning. Thank you for putting together another excellent PAESTA News and Notes Laura!

I wanted to follow up with that email by sending out a special flyer describing the excellent PAESTA/GSA workshop opportunity that is available from March 18-21 in Pittsburgh, PA:

Early, discounted registration for k-12 teacher $65 now, $85 later) is available, but only through February 13, so act fast!

Saturday March 18

10:00 AM – 1 PM Field Discovery Workshop

Streams as Classrooms: Impacts of Mine Discharge, Stormwater Runoff and Hydraulic Fracturing Fluids

Guides from the Montour Run Watershed Association will show us how this polluted stream near the Pittsburgh International Airport was cleaned up using new environmental methods. Pictures and data from this visit can be used in the classroom to teach earth science, chemistry and biology topics. There is no additional fee for this field activity. There is no additional fee for the workshop, but space is limited, so AFTER registering for the GSA K-12, please send your name to Karen Rose to ensure your spot.
