This announcement came to me after the March issue of News and Notes went out, and has an application deadline before our April issue. Feel free to share with your colleagues!

From the American Meteorological Society: Enhance your knowledge of Earth system science and earn free graduate credits through Project ATMOSPHERE and the Maury Project, 2-week professional development workshops and hands-on learning experiences provided by the American Meteorological Society Education Program.
 
Project ATMOSPHERE: Join fellow science teachers from across the country in Kansas City, Mo., at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's National Weather Service Training center on 17–29 July 2016 and learn from experts in meteorology and the atmospheric sciences while gaining valuable field experience. Travel, lodging, meal, $600 stipend, and all materials are provided. More information and the application are available online. Application deadline is 28 March 2016.
 
The Maury Project: Explore the physical foundations of oceanography at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md., 10–22 July 2016, and gain hands-on experience in oceanographic research through a daylong excursion on the Chesapeake Bay. Travel, lodging, meals, $600 stipend, and all materials are provided. More information and the application are available online. Application deadline is 21 March 2016.
