I have the folowing error. I inherited this schematic and board from a different division and am suppoded to modify the board for use here.

Not having any DxD training I've been progressing slowly and have not been able to find any differences with the three instances of this connector.

It is a standard 3 row eurocard connector to DIN41612 / IEC 603-2.

Message: Multiple Symbols <symname>device<devicename> are inconsistent.
Cause: This error occurs whenever there are multiple instantiations of inconsistent symbols with the same device name.
Solution: Make sure that inconsistent symbols with the same device name have matching pins.

Anyone?

Robert,

Do the symbols have a HETERO = attribute?  Generally what that error means is that there are multiple symbols on the schematic (in this case the three listed) that have the same device name, but DxD doesn't like that unless they're defined as hetero symbols.

I don't have an answer, and this is probably a bit off-subject, but this
caught my eye: "instantiations". WT....? Looks like someone was trying
to use an obscure word just to say they did.

I believe "instances" would be the proper word to use there.

That took me back a little also. Instantiate .. To explain or support
something maybe?

Or the programmer was intoxicated by the exuberance of his vivacity.

Bob,

I have many problems here also but I got them fixed. The problems might be there are too many sch symbols were being created by EE (due to no universal library) and used with the same part nbr, etc. So I will suggest copy/replace one or two of these sch symbol and upload them with the same part info.  Please also make sure the pin connections match the previous part. Then generate the PCB Netlist again and you will not get that errors.
