PADS 9.0 license problem

Hi

Have any of you experienced any license problems with PADS Logic in the new
9.0 edition.

After installation my Layout 9.0 works fine but my PADS Logic doesn't.
When trying to start PADS Logic 9.0 I receive a licensing note with the
following tekst:

No License was found for feature viewdraw040.

Hello:

We want to update you regarding three license feature changes to the
PADS Flow products DxDesigner and PADS Logic.

Netlistflow - Beginning with the PADS 9.0 release, a "netlistflow"
license feature will be added to all DxDesigner packages in order to
clarify the design flow that each DxDesigner package supports.

Pcbpowerpcb - Also with the PADS 9.0 release, a "pcbpowerpcb" license
feature has been added to all PADS Suites and PADS Layout configurations
to allow integration with DxDesigner.

viewdraw040 - PADS Logic users will now receive a new license feature,
"viewdraw040." This license feature will drive both PADS Logic and
DxDesigner (without concurrent design access). Existing PADS Logic users
will continue to receive the existing PADS Logic license features to
drive pre-PADS 9.0 versions of this software.

Who needs to download a new license file?

For PADS Suite users, the new license features are contained within the
composite but are not visible in the license file, so you do not need to
download a new license file.

However, if you use one of these standalone PADS Logic or DxDesigner
PADS flow products, your authorization codes are affected and you need
to download a new license file:

Impact to You of Both Feature Line Changes

If you have standalone PADS Logic or DxDesigner licenses and do not
download and install new authorization codes when you use PADS 9.0, your
DxDesigner projects will open in read-only mode and/or PADS Logic will
launch in evaluation mode.

If you need a new license file to run PADS Logic or DxDesigner at
PADS9.0, you can download it directly from SupportNet by following the
directions below.

Download instructions to get new license files:

Navigate to SupportNet: http://supportnet.mentor.com

Log in as usual

Select "Licenses" under "My Account" in the upper left part of the
window

Select "Current Authorization Codes"

Select your site ID

Download the new license file with new authcode feature lines.

Refer to TechNote MG59655 on SupportNet for assistance with installing
the new license file

For technical support updating your license file, please open a Service
Request on SupportNet with Product = DxDesigner or PADS Logic + Area =
Licensing.

Hi Henrik,

If you are paying for support, then, shouldn't Mentor be helping you solve
this in a timely manner? FIVE STAR SUPPORT must mean something, eh? I know
sometimes this list is faster for most answers, but if I was paying for
support, I'd want them to do something for the money I was paying them.

You recently upgraded to PadsV9.0 ... some Older versions of Plogic would run without a license. Are you certain you have a "Paid" license to use PLogic? Mentor now requires one.

If you have been using PLogic for years without one, you might be able to be "GrandFathered IN". Again, bug Mentor Support. RLS
